Tommaso Ciampa turned plenty of heads during AEW Grand Slam: Mexico, not just for his performance in the ring but for an unforgettable moment that quickly went viral.
Before signing with AEW, Ciampa was at the center of constant speculation about his WWE future. Since making the jump to Tony Khan’s promotion, the former #DIY standout has repeatedly spoken about enjoying the change, and his latest appearance showed he’s clearly embracing the freedom to entertain in unconventional ways.
Ciampa competed on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite from Mexico City in a three-way match against Andrade El Idolo and Komander, with the winner earning the No. 1 entry in the Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In. While Andrade ultimately secured the victory, Ciampa arguably delivered one of the night’s most memorable moments.
During the match, a fan seated at ringside was filming the action on her phone. After she snapped a selfie with Andrade — a type of fan interaction that has become increasingly common in AEW — Ciampa interrupted the moment by attacking his opponent. Later in the bout, he revisited the fan, borrowed her phone, stepped onto the ring apron, pulled the front of his trunks outward, and appeared to take a photo of his p*nis.
The segment immediately sparked debate online. Some fans praised Ciampa for leaning into AEW’s unpredictable and comedic style, while others questioned whether a similar spot would have been criticized more heavily had it happened elsewhere.
