As Team Spirit lifted their trophy in the Counter-Strike 2 tournament, they brought to a close seven weeks of exhilarating action in this year’s Esports World Cup. AG.AL were crowned the overall 2026 Club Champions, as they performed the best overall across the entire World Cup, earning 5,300 CC points and, in the process, helping them secure a prize pot of $7 million. Claiming this honour meant AG.AL denied Team Falcons the triple-year champion title, with this ultimately decided during the last weekend of the Esports World Cup, when Trackmania player Gwen claimed a dramatic victory in that tournament. AG.AL’s other first place at the World Cup came in the TEKKEN 8 tournament, while they finished second in the Free Fire, Chess, and the Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor competitions, with a third-place finish in Teamfight Tactics. Team Falcons finished second in the Club Championship as they earned 4,600 CC points, and so they secured a prize pot of $5 million. Third place was secured by Team Vitality, earning them a prize of $3 million after they earned 3,300 CC points from across the World Cup. While the Esports World Cup will return to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2027 when Riyadh is the destination, organisers will view their decision to move the competition outside the Middle Eastern nation for the first time ever as a major success.
