There was only six games this weekend in the Eredivisie due to the teams in European action getting to rest. Below is a round up of all the action. - Follow Football-Oranje on X Fortuna Sittard 0-2 AZ Alkmaar AZ Alkmaar remains at the top of the table after a victory over 10-man Fortuna Sittard. After only five minutes, Ole Romeny was shown a red card after a rash challenge on AZ full-back Mateo Chavez. AZ had the man advantage and they dominated but they couldn’t find the breakthrough in the first half. At the break, Jizz Hornkamp was brought on and the striker proved to be the matchwinner as he slotted in from close range in the 58th minute. Hornkamp then settled the victory in stoppage time. Three wins out of three for AZ while Fortuna loses for the first time this season. Sparta Rotterdam 3-3 Utrecht Sparta Rotterdam scored a 96th minute equaliser to deny Utrecht a first victory of the season. Matisse Didden headed Utrecht in front after 16 minutes but just before the break, Marvin Young equalised with another header. The second half was only going for seconds when Artem Stepanov fired Utrecht in front from close range but once again, the hosts battled back with Milan Zonneveld firing Sparta level. With twelve minutes left, Adrian Blake seemed to win it for the visitors but late on, Nick Verschuren headed in to secure a point for Sparta. Sparta are on four points while Utrecht is on one. Heerenveen 0-2 PEC Zwolle PEC Zwolle stunned Heerenveen in Friesland to register their first victory of the campaign. Dylan Vente hit the crossbar against his former side as the hosts went looking for the opening goal. However, in the second half, PEC Zwolle had the lead with Nick Viergever slotting on from close range. Heerenveen tried to get back into the game but after an hour, Koen Kostons sealed the victory for PEC Zwolle, who register their first three points of the campaign. Go Ahead Eagles 3-1 ADO Den Haag Go Ahead Eagles proved too strong for a battling ADO Den Haag in Deventer. A beautiful strike from Soren Tengstedt gave Go Ahead Eagles the lead before the break and Victor Edvardsen doubled that lead in the second half. ADO Den Haag kept going and they set up an exciting end as Evan Rottier pulled one back with twelve minutes to go. The visitors pushed but in stoppage time, a header from Stefan Sigurdson sealed the victory for the hosts. Go Ahead Eagles are currently second with seven points while ADO remains on zero for the campaign so far. PSV Eindhoven 5-1 Groningen PSV Eindhoven came from behind to hand a thrashing to Groningen. Groningen have had a good start to the season and they took the lead early on with a swift attack ending with Thom van Bergen setting up Brynjólfur Willumsson to net. Ruben van Bommel had an inspired game and he helped PSV get level as his cross was turned into his own net by Thijmen Blokzijl. Van Bommel then set up Ivan Peresic to fire PSV in front before a Ricardo Pepi penalty made it 3-1. In the second half, Peresic added a fourth before Van Bommel set up Sergino Dest to fire in a fifth for the hosts, who move on to seven points. Cambuur 2-5 Feyenoord Gjivai Zechiel’s double helped Feyenoord to a comfortable win over Cambuur in a game marred by a stoppage due to fireworks. The game was stopped in the 13th minute when flares and fireworks were set off in the away end leading to five Cambuur fans needing treatment. Once the game restarted, Zechiel fired Feyenoord in front with a simple finish into an empty net before Luciano Valente added a second. An own goal and an Ayase Ueda penalty made it 4-0 at the break. In the second half, Rafik El Arguioui netted twice to make it 4-2 but any chance of a comeback was ended as Zechiel added his second and Feyenoord’s fifth. Feyenoord are now on seven points while Cambuur is currently bottom of the table.
